LIFE PROGRAMME

LIFE is the European Union’s funding program for the environment and climate action that was launched on the 11th of December of the year 2013 in accordance with Regulation (EU) No 1293/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the establishment of a Program for the Environment and Climate Action (LIFE).

The LIFE program is coordinated by the European Commission’s Directorates-General for Environment and Climate Action. The decision to finance LIFE projects at the expense of the European Union´s LIFE Program is taken by the Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (EASME), authorized by the European Commission.

The Environmental Projects Management Agency under the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania enters into contracts with LIFE project promoters on co-financing funds that are allocated from the budget of the Republic of Lithuania by the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania.
